• We had the advantage of the original structure being designed with a traditional shophouse layout of the Early Modern Style of the early 1950’s. This meant a natural light well penetrating two levels in the centre of the design.

  • Carefully selected openings and vents were designed throughout to encourage maximum air ventilation. With this paired with the air circulating through a courtyard filled with plants helped cool the ambient temperature down.

  • Due to this advantage we chose to eliminate air conditioning in the premise. Which aids not only in the quality of air but also minimises greenhouse contribution and expensive bills.

  • An entirely transparent eave system was innovated utilising varying forms of polycarbonate corrugation profiles to shape the gutters and flashing as well, albeit admittedly in its prototype stage. This was utilised as to maximise the amount of natural light to enter the rooms.
